More than 1,100 residents have signed a petition urging the branch to not be closed in the town centre. 108 wholly-owned branch, including Redditch's, face being axed as part of a national shake-up by the Post Office.
The taxpayer-owned business is revising its franchise arrangements that could see other operators, like retailer WHSmith, take on those branches.

A spokesperson for the Post Office told the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ that it's not proposing to close its Redditch branch.
They said that as part of the company's five year transformation plan, it's considering the future of its 108 directly-managed branches, which as loss-making.
It says it has invited expressions of interest from retail partners and independent postmasters, but says no final decisions have been made on any branches.
