City schools to get new special provision places
More than 80 school places, will be created at mainstream schools across Leicester to deliver additional educational needs to children.
Leicester City council has approved £1.75million to create Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) places to give pupils extra help where there needs would not be fully met within a mainstream school environment.
The approach means children can remain at their schools to access a broader curriculum and continue to be part of the wider school community.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Conor O'grady spoke to Stephen Kingdom of the Diabled Children's Partnership campaign group about how he felt about the extra funding, and Councillor Elaine Pantling, assistant city mayor for children and young people, spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Ady Dayman.
