Tenbury flood defence scheme 'officially paused'
The Environment Agency says a funding gap and a shortfall of funding means it can’t go ahead. In November 2024, during Storm Bert, a wall in the town collapsed, releasing the waters of the Kyre Brook, flooding homes and businesses. A video of a tractor driving through the deluged streets went viral.

West Worcestershire MP Dame Harriett Baldwin says there is scope for the project to be resumed from 2026, and that she will host a delegation of locals to meet with ministers in Westminster.
