Villagers in Arley protest to shutdown abattoir
Residents who live near an abattoir in Warwickshire say it has been making their lives a misery. They recently held a peaceful protest outside T&S Abattoir in Arley in a bid to get it shutdown. It's after footage posted online showed sheep being allegedly manhandled there which the Food Standards Agency says it is currently investigating. Meanwhile, T&S Abattoir bosses have said the scenes seen in the video went against the company's animal welfare policy and their values. It said that staff members involved had had their contracts terminated immediately and that they were working with the Food Standards Agency.
