In a joint statement, MPs Anna Gelderd, Fred Thomas and Luke Pollard said they would work alongside the chairs of the Tamar Crossings Joint Committee to pass the legislation needed.
Martin Worth, co-chair of the joint committee, told the 蜜芽传媒 they would be "working towards" getting the changes within the lifespan of the current government.
He said: "This is not tomorrow, and I must stress that. This is primary legislation, this is to the level of a King's Speech."
The MPs and joint committee are calling for the difference between cash fares and the Tamar Tag, which is commonly used by local people and regular users, to be increased.

The Pydar development in Truro will include new offices, retail units and housing, plus a university centre with 400 student flats.
As part of the build, the old Carrick District Council offices and the viaduct car park were demolished, but nothing has happened on the site since summer 2022.
According to Treveth, Cornwall Council's development company, interest rates needed to drop before the scheme could be financially viable.
The idea behind the Pydar Regeneration Project, was to regenerate a run-down area of the city and create a vibrant new neighbourhood and destination for Truro.
According to the proposals, 320 homes would be built, 112 of which will be classified as affordable.

Marc Craig's three-storey-high design on a wall in Market Strand, in Redruth, has launched his Ark of Extinction project.
The artist is set to design other animal murals in the UK, Ireland and the United States focusing on endangered species such as red squirrels which are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
Mr Craig said he wanted to "galvanise local pride around critically-endangered animals" through the artworks.
The red squirrel mural's design is made up of white bones painted by Mr Craig. He needed four days to complete the artwork.
Rebecca Pearce, Redruth Town Council's communications coordinator, said it was great to have the project launched in the town.
That鈥檚 all from me, have a good week.
