Doubt over future of Rothley Centre
Around 120 people who live near the Rothley Centre have lobbied their local parish council over plans for its future.
Parish councillors decided to terminate the lease on the centre at the end of this year over concerns about rising costs.
But residents say the decision was taken without consultation, and Jessica Sallis, who runs a dance school at the Rothley Centre, wants the council to reconsider the decision.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester political reporter Tim Parker spoke to residents who were at the meeting.
In a statement Rothley Parish Council said "We have allocated time slots at the Village Hall for Rothley users where possible. Unfortunately, a few groups, mainly organised by non-Rothley residents, will need to find another venue."
Charnwood Borough Council said that they "will meet with the parish council later this month to understand why they wish to end their tenancy and to determine if a mutually agreed solution can be found for the parish council to extend their lease."
