Stratford FC wants more council support

Stratford Town FC says its success means they need the support of its local council.

Stratford Town FC was saved from the brink of folding for good in 2018. Since then it's gone on to become a thriving community hub and added millions of pounds to the local economy.

But the current owners claim that success comes with its own set of problems as additional visitors to the Knights Lane grounds has been causing issues with parking.

Two temporary stands at the grounds has even been subject to a visit from council enforcement officers. The club says it wants the council to do more to support its development.

In response, Stratford-on-Avon District Council says it remains supportive of the Football Club and recognises the valuable work that they carry out through their sports, education and community programmes.
To evidence this, the District Council has written off a significant loan balance owed by the club and contributed towards the costs of replacing the artificial pitch. The District Council is in regular dialogue with the club and the senior representatives of the District Council met the football club Chairman last week to discuss to the club’s developing plans.

However, whilst there is a live enforcement case on the site, no further comments can be made at this time regarding this issue.
