Crews remain at scene of wildfire days later
Fire crews are still monitoring the scene of a large wildfire at Bardon Hill near Coalville, several days after it began.
They were first called to the blaze on Wednesday evening and had put it out hours later. But the blaze, which at its height spread across 2,691 sq ft (250 sq m) of land made up of peat, took hold again on Thursday night.
Firefighters say 'there are still several pockets of potential fire', and they might have to watch it for several more days.
Dr Gail Millin-Chalabi told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Ady Dayman that the peat in the ground is proving problematical, and Matt Walters from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue explained the cause for the fire has not yet been established.
