“I don’t want young people to feel what I feltâ€
Foster carers are a crucial part of the care system, but in the Northwest, more are currently leaving than joining.
This means hundreds of children in the region who need fostering are being left without a stable home.
One of the places they could go is into a children’s residential home. Currently our region has the highest number of these in England. In Warrington, the council has launched 'No Wrong Door,' a scheme aiming to minimise how long children are in homes while also trying to stop them from ending up there in the first place.
