Loughborough students describe Spain travel chaos

A group of Loughborough University students were among thousands of tourists in Spain who were stranded after a country-wide power blackout.

Airports in both Spain and Portugal reported delays with hundreds of cancelled flights. Traffic lights were knocked out, causing chaos on the roads, and trains stopped running, leaving passengers in hot carriages for hours.

Jess Schofield was among a group of five students from the University of Loughborough who went to Barcelona for a long weekend. Jess told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Ady Dayman that they were on a train on the way to the airport when it just stopped on a bridge.
