Squadron Leader Paul Wise will be flying the Lancaster Bomber at the front of the flypast over Buckingham Palace.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Naga Munchetty, he says piloting the 80-year-old plane will be 鈥渘on-stop on the senses鈥�.

鈥淭he vibrations, smell of the aircraft, you can鈥檛 help but get the heartbeat going.鈥�

He says the Lancaster will be the 鈥渏ewel in the crown鈥� during the flypast, as 鈥渙nly two in the world remain airworthy today, one is ours and the other is across in Canada.鈥�

鈥淭he best place to place these beautiful aeroplanes is in the sky for everybody to see, smell and hear.鈥�
