Lancaster Bomber pilot looks ahead to historic flypast
Squadron Leader Paul Wise will be flying the Lancaster Bomber at the front of the flypast over Buckingham Palace.
Speaking to Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Naga Munchetty, he says piloting the 80-year-old plane will be 鈥渘on-stop on the senses鈥.
鈥淭he vibrations, smell of the aircraft, you can鈥檛 help but get the heartbeat going.鈥
He says the Lancaster will be the 鈥渏ewel in the crown鈥 during the flypast, as 鈥渙nly two in the world remain airworthy today, one is ours and the other is across in Canada.鈥
鈥淭he best place to place these beautiful aeroplanes is in the sky for everybody to see, smell and hear.鈥
