Operation Blackout saw the arrest of Karl Dönitz, after Nazi Germany's surrender, featuring members of the Herefordshire Regiment.

The Regiment had been operating for 11 months on the continent, from the days after D-Day through to the days after VE Day, when Hitler's anointed successor was captured by British forces, attempting to lead a German post-war government of their own.

Colonel Andy Taylor OBE tells this lesser known slice of history to Felicity Kvesic, at the Herefordshire Light Infantry Museum on Harold Street, where the pennants of Dönitz's state car remain, testament to the Herefordshire Regiment.
