Harlow flats evacuated over ‘concerns'
23 families in Harlow were ordered to leave their flats in Redstone House last week, after the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service raised 'significant fire safety concerns' about the converted former office block.
It's the second block in Harlow in less than a year that has had to be evacuated, with families moving out at short notice.
Roger Hirst is the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, and said: “making buildings across Essex safer is a key priority. We always work proactively with landlords and building owners to improve building safety, no one wants to see people forced to leave their homes."
