What links David Bowie and Stockport station?
In 1970, a group of sixth-form students arranged for David Bowie to perform in Stockport.
Due to the show exceeding its scheduled duration, Bowie missed his train back to London, resulting in an unexpected overnight stay at Stockport Station.
A plaque has since been installed at the station to commemorate this remarkable event.
