Naga Munchetty: ‘I’m sick of women not being listened to’
TV presenter Naga Munchetty joined Anita Rani in the Woman's Hour studio and spoke frankly about her experience of debilitating painful periods.
She’s best known for her straight-talking interviews on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 5Live, but four years ago she shared her experience of getting a coil fitted.
The response from listeners was overwhelming and led to her speaking out about her debilitating period pain and researching the experience of other women’s medical treatment.
Now, she’s written a book – It’s Probably Nothing: Critical Conversations on the Women’s Health Crisis - and joined Anita to explain why she felt compelled to focus on this topic.
Naga was diagnosed with adenomyosis aged 47, but told Anita that she felt dismissed when seeking help. She shared her advice on how to speak up and be heard when seeking medical help.
Listen to the full interview on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sounds – it’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 9 May.
