Will this Durham Alumna be first Brit on the Moon?
The UK has a new astronaut currently undergoing six months of training at NASA.
Dr Rosemary Coogan holds two master’s degrees from Durham University in Physics and Astronomy and is scheduled to get a mission by 2030 but her space career could last for the next 35 years.
It means she may be the first Briton to walk on the Moon — and possibly even go to Mars.
Our Science Editor Rebecca Morelle has been to see how the latest phase of her training has been going.
