Blues chairman Justin Rees dubs play-off final ticket row 'diabolical'
Southend United chairman Justin Rees has described the National League play-off final ticket row as 'diabolical'.
The Blues will face Oldham Athletic at the 90,000-seater Wembley Stadium but saw their ticket allocation limited initially to only 17,500 due to Transport for London engineering works at Wembley Park train station.
However, high demand for tickets from both sides and intervention from MPs has seen the allocation increased to 21,500 each.
CEO Tom Lawrence says the clubs are meeting on Tuesday (27th May) with the National League in a late bid to increase ticket allocation further.
Lawrence hopes the total attendance can be increased to 55,000.
Both clubs expect the attendance to break the National League record for a play-off final, which was set in 2015 at 47,029 by Bristol Rovers and Grimsby Town.
