What was meant to be a celebration turned into a nightmare for Steve from Chester, who was at the parade with his family. They were alarmingly close to the path of an oncoming car that entered the crowd. Public bravery helped get them out just in time. “If people hadn’t acted, it could’ve been so much worse,” Steve said. He now grapples with anxiety, unsure of what happened or what will come next. “That car shouldn’t have been there,” he added.
