How clean is our Royal Albert Dock?
Once earmarked for demolition in the 1970s, Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock has undergone a stunning transformation. Once polluted and neglected, it’s now a thriving tourist destination with waters so clean they’ve earned a fifth international Blue Flag award. We explore how the dock became a haven for wildlife, with help from the volunteers keeping it that way — chatting to Steve and Barry from the Canal & River Trust, live from their narrowboat on SaltHouse Dock.
