The town's historic lido was opened by West End star Ralph Lynn in 1935, and brings in thousands of visitors to the county every year.

It was so popular, that after its doors closed in 2000, a petition to have it reopened less than a decade later was 98% in favour!

Kate Justice and Tom Edwards hear from the people who make it tick, from former lifeguard turned coach David Sparkes, 2025's manager Seb Parker, and the people using the pool for the years and months to come. Whether the temperature is a beautiful 23 degrees Celsius, or three degrees during the winter, for cold water swimming.
