Released in 1970, "The Railway Children’" was filmed in various locations near Haworth. This clip from Look North features an interview with actors Bernard Cribbins and Lionel Jeffries, who also directed. The pair discuss positive reactions to the film as wholesome family entertainment.

A new stage adaptation will launch in Bradford in July 2025, as part of UK City of Culture. Audiences will board a steam train at Keighley and on reaching the end of the line will find a purpose-built auditorium within the station’s Engine Shed hosting a new version of the production.
