What next as Worcester Crematorium closes?
Cremations at Astwood Cemetery will temporarily take place in Redditch, from 4 August, due to renovations and improvements.
Astwood Cemetery will still hold burials, whilst its gas cremators will be replaced by state-of-the-art electric cremators, alongside the installation of a new garden and improvements to the aesthetics of the cemetery.
From the beginning of August, services will take place at the KGV Community Hub, for nine months.
Worcester City Council's Zoe Cookson tells Kate Justice says the arrangements are an ideal temporary solution, and explains measures they have taken to ensure the sensitivity of the current crematorium, remains.
