The day JFK flew in to Lincolnshire
The US president was on a tour of Western Europe.
In June 1963 the US President John F. Kennedy made a top-secret stopover at RAF Waddington, witnessed by only a handful of people.
A few days earlier the president had been in West Berlin, where he had given his famous 'Ich bin ein Berliner' speech.
From the Lincolnshire air station he flew by helicopter to Chatsworth House and the grave of his sister Kathleen, before returning to Air Force One and continuing his tour.
