A number of children were caught beneath a tree on Saturday afternoon and suffered injuries after it collapsed in Chalkwell Park near Southend-on-Sea.

Five children were taken to hospital, but Essex Police later confirmed that a seven-year-old girl had died and her family were being supported by officers.
