A Leicester university student has received top marks and been awarded a degree after writing his dissertation on Barbie.

Charlie Dowey watched the Barbie movie over 40 times, and also delved into the soundtrack of the film to write his 10,000 word dissertation exploring how gender has been represented in the movie.

The 21-year-old was given a mark of 70% for his thesis as part of his degree in English language with journalism at De Montfort University.

Charlie spoke to 蜜芽传媒 Leicester's Jo Russell.
