Can Luton ‘bounce back’ after Vauxhall?
Following the loss of one of its biggest employers, how can the town’s economy recover?
Vauxhall ceased production in Luton in March 2025, after 120 years of manufacturing cars and vans in the town, with the loss of over a thousand permanent jobs.
But with things like its airport expansion and Universal Studios coming to the area – is the longer term future more promising?
Ben Schofield hears from business owners, a former Vauxhall worker, the Borough Council and community leaders.
