Trains return to Glenfield's forgotten tunnel
Originally built in 1833 to haul coal from Leicester to Coalville, Glenfield Tunnel has been closed to passengers since 1928, and was completely shut in 1966.
For the past 13 years a small team of volunteers have organised tours of the mile long tunnel, so visitors can receive a glimpse of the past.
Now the experience has moved a step closer, as the team are laying a miniature railway which will allow passengers to have a short journey for the first time in almost a century.
Matt Smith bought his ticket and took a ride.
