Mad on Mary Queen of Scots in Milton Keynes
John White has spent years building a collection which includes a lock of Mary’s hair. Mary Stuart was Queen of Scotland from 1542 to 1567 and was considered the legitimate heir to the English throne by many Catholics. Elizabeth I, Queen of England, perceived her as a threat and Mary was beheaded in 1587. Her story has long fascinated Scottish-born John White who now lives in Milton Keynes. He plans to tour his collection of artefacts in exhibitions around the country. Photo: Portrait of Mary Queen of Scots owned by John White. Interview by Tony Fisher.
