How to drive Flying Scotsman

Get an inside look at the cab of the world's most famous steam locomotive.

How do you maintain the pressure cooker of an engine? Why there are two whistles?

Ahead of the engine's visit to the Severn Valley Railway, fireman Andy Stringer talks Lauren Clemson through the process of keeping this multimillion pound, hundred year old machine going, getting ready at Bewdley station. Which boggles the mind, when this huge locomotive is operating often at 80-90mph, at over 250lb of pressure at full tilt, expecting to burn through 2-3 tonnes of coal in a day.
