Robert Southey wrote the original version of the world's most famous fairy tale. He lived in Greta Hall overlooking the town, and he perfected the story reading it out loud to his children, before it appeared in print in 1837. Andrew Carter met the staff at Keswick Museum to discover more about the bears who were celebrities long before a certain bear from darkest Peru.
