‘Pride’ over statue of stabbed police dog Finn
Former Herts police officer Dave Wardell says Finn saved his life on duty in Stevenage. The public raised money for a memorial for Finn, who died in 2023 after surviving his injuries and retiring from the police force. Dave Wardell was speaking to Babs Michel, whose grandfather was a dog handler in the Metropolitan Police. Also present was Hector, a retired police dog who now lives with Dave. The statue of Finn can be seen at Layston Court Gardens, Buntingford. Photo: The Thin Blue Paw Foundation.
