Sophie volunteers for the charity that helped her
Sophie Clark from Romsey is a finalist in the Volunteer category in the ѿý Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards for 2025.
Sophie joined Romsey Young Carers aged 10, due to being a young carer for her sister. She now volunteers for the charity and leads dance workshops for other young carers.
Sophie has been chatting to ѿý Radio Solent's Helen Head about what motivates her to volunteer.
The Volunteer Award will awarded to an individual who makes a notable difference to their community by giving their time voluntarily to help others.
The Make a Difference Awards are your chance to say “Thank You” and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others.
Nominations for the 2025 awards have now closed and finalists have been selected by a panel of judges.
The winners will be announced at our ѿý Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards ceremony in September.
