Abandoned Pitsea railway back on track
An Essex miniature railway line has reopened to the public after being closed for six years. Volunteers have spent thousands of hours helping to restore the track at Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea near Basildon, which has cost around £50,000 to refurbish.
Trains began running on the one mile (1.6km) in 1988, but the attraction closed in 2019 after more than 30 years.
