The tiny windswept island half a mile off the coast near Barrow has for at least the past two hundred years chosen it's own king, and its origins are lost in the mists of time. But it was the location of last invasion of our shores, where four hundred years ago the boy king Lambert Simnel set out on his failed bid for the crown.
