The final plans for Camborne’s renewal scheme have been approved and work is expected to begin in October.
Under the proposals, there will be extended free on-street parking, a new zebra crossing and more seating on Trelowarren Street and Commercial Square.
The project is part of the Town Investment Plan.
There will also be paving repairs, the installation of enhanced lighting and CCTV and the provision of cycle parking.
A community drop-in session is set to be held 3 September, when residents can learn about planned roadworks and traffic management arrangements during the construction period.

The project reinstated the roof and installed an electrical supply, as well as clearing up the surrounding garden and paths.
The house will now host school and group visits to learn about the garden's history.
The house was built between 1718 and 1729 and Historic England described it as "delightful".
The project was overseen by Plymouth City Council's strategic project team.
Jemima Laing, cabinet member for culture said: "Its old life as a pleasure house may be long gone, but it will bring a different kind of pleasure for the next generation who will be able to enjoy learning about plants in an amazing setting."

The nominations for the animal category also feature one man and his Pets As Therapy dog and the founder of a shelter for small animals.
The awards, which are in their fourth year, recognise and celebrate people who genuinely make a difference in their communities across Cornwall.
At the Community and Hospital Education Service sites in Cornwall, Tony Nicolson and Beven the dog are familiar and much-loved faces.
The service teaches children who are too unwell to attend mainstream education.
Maria Mulkeen started her animal shelter 25 years ago.
Maria and her small team of volunteers offer advice, a place to bring injured or sick animals and a rescue and service.
That’s all from me, have a good week.
