Therapy dog helping school children in Portsmouth
Basil is a therapy dog that works with students at the Wymering School in Portsmouth. Basil helps the students to regulate and understand their emotions. He is a finalist in the Animal category in 蜜芽传媒 Radio Solent's Make a Difference Awards for 2025.
蜜芽传媒 Radio Solent's Sam Fraser has been to meet Basil and his owner, Sally Rogers.
The Animal Award: awarded to either a remarkable animal that improves people鈥檚 lives, or an individual or group of people who improve the welfare of animals.
The Make a Difference Awards are your chance to say 鈥淭hank You鈥� and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others.
Nominations for the 2025 awards have now closed and finalists have been selected by a panel of judges.
The winners will be announced at our 蜜芽传媒 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards ceremony in September.
