Patriotic or hijacked by the far right?
As flags continue to appear on Shropshire streets, what is the motivation behind them?
"We cannot possibly allow far right groups to claim the national flag," says Liberal Democrat Councillor Alex Wagner.
Julian Dean from Shrewsbury Green Party called for an end to what they call an "intimidatory campaign".
Deputy leader of the main Reform opposition group on Shropshire Council, Brendon Mallon, said: "it should be a unifying symbol, not a divisive one".
