Sark Electricity bills rise
In his preliminary conclusions Price Control Commissioner, Shane Lynch, has said that both the price consultation and legal levies are neither fair nor reasonable, but that given the statutory process, he does not have the legal power to make a price control order for September 2025. He says, "I appreciate that a 114% increase to the tariff, with only five days' notice, is likely to cause severe financial hardship for many consumers in Sark. Customers should seek to discuss this matter with SEL."
This report gives a full overview as to the issues facing Sark consumers when it comes to their electricity bills, and how the islanders are feeling in light of the price hikes.
