From Tragedy to Tribute: Birkenhead’s Young Wartime Hero
Frederick Boneham was just 17 when he died during the Birkenhead Blitz, fatally injured as he joined others trying to secure a drifting barrage balloon. Once overlooked, his sacrifice has now been acknowledged by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, following research by historian Peter Garwood.
