The Cambs cyclist and the peeing polar bear

A Cambridgeshire man is taking part in an unusual cycle ride to promote prostate cancer awareness.

Ian Ashmeade is part of Haddenham Easyriders cycling club.

Two years ago members toured the Netherlands and saw an art installation of a sculpture of a polar bear peeing into a canal, designed to highlight climate change.

However, a number of residents complained about the noise and it has since been removed.

The seven-man cycling group plans to revisit the canal, and when it does - Mr Ashmeade intends to dress as a polar bear and re-enact its actions, with the help of a mechanical peeing device.

Mr Ashmeade said one of his friends was undergoing tests for prostate cancer and he wanted to highlight the disease.
