Hereford FC fans give racism red card
Bulls supporters have raised thousands to pay for a huge anti-racism banner, which will be displayed at the club's next home game, following an alleged incident of racist abuse directed at an opposition player.
Hereford FC Supporters Trust Chair, Richard Tomkins, tells Tammy Gooding how much he's delighted by fans' response. He says it's a 'JFK moment' for the club.
Hereford's game at Sporting Khalsa was abandoned after the goalkeeper Ravan Constable was allegedly subjected to racist abuse from some in the away end.
The Edgar Street has since banned two individuals from the ground, whilst investigations continue from West Midlands Police.
Fans have set up a page to pay for a 16-metre banner which will read: 'Red Card To Racism - Racists Not Welcome Here'. They also aim to buy 2,500 red cards for fans to hold up at the next game, before kick-off, with any leftover money going to a charity or project of Ravan Constable's choice.
