Good morning. A programme to support foster families has opened a new hub in west Cornwall.
The Mockingbird programme began its work in the USA with the aim of connecting local foster families through a central hub that can offer them practical and emotional support.
Mockingbird groups have already been set up in St Austell and east Cornwall, and now another hub has been opened in St Newlyn East, which will support six foster families and seven children in the care of the local authority.
Councillor Hilary Frank reported that there were as many as 40 children seeking a foster family at any time.
"Mockingbird creates an extended family where carers and children can help each other navigate life's ups and downs," she said.

Translation 2:
Cornwall Council is trying out a new material, called Elastomac, for repairing our roads, and according to the council, the results have been very successful.
The council says that Elastomac, which is made of bitumen, gravel and used tyres, is more water resistant and easy to use.
The council has already received 拢32 million this financial year for road repairs, and it could get another 拢12 million, if it could show that it was using best practice to complete the work.The council also intends to work more proactively. Councillor Dan Rogerson said, 鈥淚f we're coming out to do a pothole that's been reported, if there are things that could be a problem in six months or a year's time, we'll deal with those as well."

Translation 3:
The International Mining and Pasty Festival has been held in Redruth.
The town is twinned with Plumergat and Meriadec in Brittany, Mineral Point in the USA, and Real Del Monte in Mexico, and the organisers of the festival wanted to celebrate the links between Redruth and those towns.
So, a walk to Wheal Uny was organised, where smoke bombs of various colours were lit in the mine鈥檚 chimneys: red, white, blue and green, representing the colours of the countries overseas. The town鈥檚 mayor, Alison Biscoe, described the event as 鈥渁n emotional tribute to all those men, women and children across the world who have worked in mining."
