Covid jab confusion adds to pharmacists' workload
Routine Covid and flu vaccine appointments are taking four times longer than they need to due to the confusion over who is eligible to have them for free under the NHS.
A vaccine appointment which usually takes around five minutes, is now taking around 20 minutes or more while staff check a patient's eligibility.
Last year the jab was offered for free to anyone 65 years old and over and those with a long list of chronic or long-term conditions but that's now been changed.
NHS England said the wording on the website had been changed to make it clearer the eligibility criteria had been tightened. (photo credit: Getty)
