'It's dangerous and needs to be removed'
The floating bus stop in Shrewsbury town centre is widely unpopular with a campaign to get it scrapped signed by thousands of people. Now ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ analysis has found that it's been installed against government guidance as the waiting area between the road and cycleway is too narrow.
Sarah Gayton from the National Federation of the Blind of the UK told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Shropshire's Adam Green, "how can you exclude people with mobility issues from getting to that train station?"
In a statement Shropshire Council's transport consultants WSP said uncharted utilities were discovered during construction and after considering several options, the decision was to slightly reduce the buffer width rather than remove the buffer completely.
