The Christmas Truce during the winter of 1914 has become one of the most re-told stories of the First World War Soldiers from both sides stopped fighting to exchange gifts, sing carols and play a game of football on the battlefield near Ypres. Since Sir Roger Bannister broke the record for the four minute mile, many runners have tried to break records at that distance. Paul Robinson is no exception. The Irishman was approached by a friend to see, whether he wanted to break a mile record in Antarctica. The problem was Paul only had three weeks to prepare for the challenge. He says running the mile in those conditions has helped improve his career, so his goals of competing at the Olympics won鈥檛 be put on ice.
