US Businesses Urge Trump to End China Tariff War

Thousands of American businesses are calling on Donald Trump to make a deal with China to end tariffs

A coalition of almost 150 American business groups has written an open letter to President Trump urging him to reach a deal with President Xi to end tariffs. Craig Allen from the US-China Business Council tells us the US president has been poorly advised on trade with China. Also in the programme, French President Emmanuel Macron has said he will not abandon a controversial fuel tax. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Rob Young has been in Paris, finding out more about the wave of anger towards Mr Macron. Plus, major clothing retailers have faced scrutiny from a British parliamentary committee over the environmental impact of so-called 'fast fashion', where many clothes end up in landfill after a short period of use. Mary Creagh is chair of the Environmental Audit Committee, and tells us what she learned at today's hearing. And we also hear from Mike Barry, director of sustainable business at clothing retailer Marks and Spencer, who gave evidence on behalf of the chain.
