Trial starts in US opioid case
The trial starts against a drug company accused of fuelling the opioid addiction crisis
The US state of Oklahoma starts the first court case against a drug company they say helped cause the opioid addiction crisis. With a trade war between the US and China escalating, we consider how China could be hit. Joe Mak is sales director for Chinese clothing manufacturer Rose Knitting Asia, which sells mostly to the US, and explains what the impact of threatened US tariffs would be on his business. Our economics correspondent Andrew Walker discusses how tariffs affect American importers and consumers. And Stephen Perry, whose father Jack was a trailblazer for opening up trade with China in the 1950s, tells us how the country became such a manufacturing powerhouse in the first place. Also in the programme, we hear from a farmer in Zimbabwe who says his land is being unfairly seized by a minister's son.
