The return of UFC

Sportsworld discuss the return of UFC to the sporting calendar.

With sports around the world still largely postponed, MMA’s biggest franchise, UFC returns, albeit behind closed doors. Fights are typically held in Las Vegas and widely attended, but with the state still in lockdown, the sport has travelled to Florida, where sport is considered an 'essential service' and will be broadcast across the globe. The main event was originally set to feature the two best lightweight fighters in the world, Khabib Nurgementov against Tony Ferguson. However that was cancelled due to Khabib still being in his native country of Russia when the Coronavirus outbreak began. Instead, Ferguson will face Justin Gaethje.

Plus we discuss the potential take over of Newcastle United. When and if the Premier League resumes could Newcastle United have new owners? Saudi Arabia's public investment fund is close to buying an 80 per cent stake in the club worth almost half a billion dollars, but there has been some backlash to the potential new owners.

And we take a look at the sporting situation across Africa. From the African Cup of Nations to netball in South Africa, how is Africa's sporting landscape coping with the coronavirus pandemic?
