UN alarmed by situation in El Fasher
The United Nations has called for safe passage for trapped civilians out of El Fasher in western Sudan
The UN humanitarian aid chief, Tom Fletcher, said he was deeply alarmed by reports of civilian casualties. He said people must be allowed to leave safely. Sudan's military has not acknowledged loss of el-Fasher --its last stronghold in western Sudan.
