Aid agencies warn of worsening situation in Sudan

Growing concerns for the remaining resident of El Fasher as thousands flee the city.

Following the seizure of El Fasher by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, aid agencies are warning of a worsening situation for the remaining residents of the city. Thousands have fled towards Tawila in search of safety. We speak to the International Rescue Committee, one of the aid organisations operating in Darfur.

Jamaica has been left with extensive damage after Hurricane Melissa made landfall in what has been called the strongest storm to ever hit the Caribbean nation. The US National Hurricane centre warned that catastrophic flooding is likely on the island, with some areas expecting over seventy centimetres of rain. We get the latest from the island.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas appears to be under real strain. Civil defence officials in Gaza say at least thirty-three people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across the territory and dozens more wounded. The attacks hit homes, schools and residential blocks. Israel accuses Hamas of attacking its troops and violating the terms of the US-brokered ceasefire.
